Artwalk Friday, June 3

Sounds like fun! See below for the Volunteer Center’s briefing. Terri will be issuing Merits on our behalf as the event’s primary coordinator.

This June’s theme is Rhythm ‘N Art Music Fest. 13 bands will take the stage on the square and 10 Gallery spaces will show off some amazing art.
The square will be teaming with vendors, food and children’s activities. There will be lots of opportunities to help, from assisting with Children’s activities, set up and tear down and helping with the Art Fence.

Children’s activities will need volunteers who are good with children and can assist with the various activities such as painting, sidewalk chalk and bubble blowing. Hours involved are from 5 to 7 for shift one and 7 to 9 for shift 2.

The Art Fence project is looking for helpers to set up the fence and display the art. We will also need volunteers to provide security during art walk and helpers to take it down and secure the art.

Art Fence project volunteers; Shift 1 from 3-5; Shift 2 from 5-7; Shift 3 from 7-9. Some light lifting is involved with the set up.

Set up for the Art Walk starts at 3 pm with tent set up and trash can distribution. We will also be setting up the large Art Walk Flags at this time. This involves some moderately heavy lifting. Two able bodies adults are needed for this task. Shift is about 1 hour long.

Tear down for Art Walk starts at 10 pm this month. Volunteers are needed to take down the Art Walk tent and banners and move trash cans to the Northwest corner of the square. These volunteer will also be needed to haul the children’s supplies into storage. 3-4 able bodied adults are needed for this task.
